The DMV will continue to accept applications without payment to establish a waiting list should an additional amount of decals be authorized. CNCDA recommends dealers immediately pull any advertising mentioning the Green Sticker Program. Although DMV is building a wait list, CNCDA doesn't anticipate the authorization of additional decals.
The 85,000 authorized Green CAV decals were issued to applicants that purchased or leased vehicles meeting California's Enhanced Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emission Vehicle or Transitional Zero-Emission Vehicle requirements.
All CAV decals must be reauthorized for use by the Federal Highway Administration. If re-authorization is not granted, the Clean Air Vehicle sticker program may end sooner than state law currently allows. State law extends the use of CAV decals for enhanced AT PZEV or TZEV through January 1, 2019."
There may be a few vehicles still available at select new car dealers that already have stickers issued from the dealership applying for them at a prior date in advance. See your Riverside HOV/EV headquarters, Raceway Ford, for details.
